Some of the features in Windows OneCare Live are currently available in Windows, but users must know both where the utility is located and when to run it. This chart explains some of the benefits of running OneCare versus relying on Windows utilities.

Feature New/Improved Improvement
Antivirus detection and removal New Previously not available from Microsoft, although Microsoft does have a tool, updated monthly, to remove known malicious software.
Antispyware detection and removal New Integration will improve in subsequent updates to OneCare, but Windows Defender will also be available separately at no charge.
Boot-time monitoring New New service that allows Microsoft to monitor and take proactive steps to fix Windows startup problems.
Firewall Improved The current Windows Firewall monitors inbound traffic only. The OneCare Firewall monitors inbound and outbound traffic.
