  • Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations implements a continuous update schedule, called One Version.
  • Continuous updating requires customers to perform ongoing testing to avoid errors.
  • Customers will need to budget for and use testing platforms and strategically use update windows to mitigate risk.

Starting in Apr. 2019, Dynamics 365 Finance & Operations adopted a continuous update policy that requires customers to accept frequent updates, requiring more frequent testing, validation, and training.

(Updated in late 2019 to change the update deferrals from two consecutive updates to three.)

Overview

Dynamics 365 is a family of software and hosted services that includes Customer Engagement for sales, marketing, and customer relationship management (CRM); Finance & Operations for enterprise resource planning (ERP), retail, and human resource functionality; and other stand-alone components that can be used to augment core applications.
