Loop is a collaboration solution that allows users to create freeform workspaces (like digital canvases) where they can share ideas and documents and perform various group-related activities like tracking projects and initiatives.

Planned updates for Loop span several key areas but focus primarily on administration and governance, improvements to collaboration features, and enabling other Office apps to use Loop components.

Administration and Governance

Beginning in Dec. 2024 and continuing throughout 2025, Microsoft is releasing numerous administration and governance features that will help organizations that would like to adopt the service but require more controls:

Administration enhancements will add features to manage membership, ownership, deletion, and restoration of Loop workspaces. This will be the result of requiring Microsoft 365 Group for all new workspaces. Workspaces will also support multiple owners, removing the need for one person to perform all management efforts. Other plans include new use reports to monitor workspace usage and storage.
