Loop is a real-time collaboration app that allows users to share information across the M365 ecosystem using embedded components. Users can create and share ideas and information and perform group-related activities like managing projects. Loop helps users quickly organize different types of information into one app and share it in other apps. The near real-time sync allows participants to work in any supported app, reducing the need to search through separate applications. It can help avoid the duplication of documents, ensuring users work with the same version of the content.

Near-Term Updates and Roadmap (2026)
Microsoft continues to improve Loop features and is expanding administration and insights capabilities. Planned updates for Loop focus primarily on administration and governance, improvements to collaboration features, and enabling other Office apps to use Loop components.
Notably, Loop (loop.cloud.microsoft) is deploying to M365 Government Community Cloud (GCC) customers starting at the end of Q1 2026.
