Advanced Communications Add-on for Teams Enhances Capacity

• Advanced Communications is an add-on license to enable larger Teams meetings and live events than allowed by Microsoft 365 Enterprise plans.
• Only meeting organizers and event producers need to be licensed for the meeting or live event to benefit.
• The live event benefits of Advanced Communications are currently available at no cost until Jun. 30, 2021.
• Most other planned features of Advanced Communications will not be available until late 2020 or early 2021.

Advanced Communications, which became available in Aug. 2020, is an add-on license for use with Microsoft Teams that allows organizations to host Teams meetings and live events for more attendees than allowed by existing Microsoft 365 plans. The add-on could be useful for organizations that want to regularly host large-scale presentations, such as all-hands meetings, webinars, and customer presentations. However, most capabilities are still rolling out or planned for later availability, and the ability to host larger live events is available at no additional cost until Jun. 30, 2021.
