Analyst ReportBusiness Analyzer Released for Dynamics AX
Dynamics Business Analyzer is a touch-optimized application that enables remote users to access, view, and interact with business reports created from an on-premises Dynamics AX 2012 R2 installation. Available for Windows 8, 8.1 (including RT), and Windows Phone 8 devices, the applications provide a more secure and timely method for accessing key business reports (for example, cash balances, profit and loss, and revenue forecasts) than other means, such as e-mail attachments.
Shown here are screen images, from a Windows 8.1 device (left) and a Windows Phone (right). At the top are the main dashboards where users arrive when opening the application, and at the bottom are the gallery pages where users can select the reports, charts, and key performance indicators to display on the main dashboards. Similar to the interaction available with the Dynamics desktop or Web clients, the reports can be filtered and sorted (for example, by month or department), and users can drill down into lower levels of data or expand specific data points, providing the report is created to access that level of detail. A feature available only in the Windows Store application (for organizations that use Microsoft’s Lync communications software) is the ability to display Lync contacts in a panel beside the reports, which allows users to call, e-mail, or instant message individuals with queries about reports.
