  • Dynamics 365 ERP is implementing a new compliance check to ensure users have a valid license.
  • Enforcement begins at the end of Aug. 2025, after which users without licenses will be locked out.
  • Admins need to ensure all users have licenses assigned to avoid disruption.

Dynamics 365 Finance and Operations is putting a lock on the front door and will require users to have an assigned license by Aug. 30, 2025. After that date, users without assigned licenses will be locked out of the service. Organizations need to ensure they have enough licenses and assign licenses to users through the Microsoft 365 admin center before this time. Admins also should clean up security role assignments to avoid over licensing users. Organizations that have properly assigned licenses will not be impacted.
