Analyst ReportDynamics 365 Smart Assist Retiring: Change to Copilot
- Dynamics 365 Smart Assist support ends in June 2025 and the product disappears completely in Dec. 2025; customers have little time to move.
- Copilot in Dynamics 365 options are the most logical replacement, but third-party and custom alternatives are possible.
- Avoiding Copilot in Dynamics 365 is not a good strategy as existing analysis features are being absorbed.
Dynamics 365 Smart Assist is being retired in late 2025 in favor of embedded Copilot capabilities, as Microsoft continues to promote the Copilot family. Prior to the end of support, customers should pick a new solution: Adopt Copilot in Dynamics 365, revert to normal search features, or use third-party or custom-built tools. Smart Assist and Copilot in Dynamics 365 are both included in Dynamics 365 Customer Service Enterprise licensing, so there is no additional cost in adopting Copilot in Dynamics 365 as a replacement.
Smart Assist Retiring
Product support for Smart Assist will end on June 2, 2025, and Microsoft will remove access to the feature from all Dynamics 365 deployments on Dec. 31, 2025.
