Business Analyzer R5 for Dynamics AX 2012 R2 enables remote users to securely access reports that deliver key information to mobile managers. Separate Dynamics AX mobile apps for timesheets, expenses, and approvals provide simplified, offline entry and automatic upload for tablet and phone users, allowing for more accurate and timely information. The mobile apps represent a strategic direction for Dynamics, and customers should probably expect more apps and custom development options with AX 2012 R3 in Apr. 2014. However, the apps require remote access to Dynamics AX and additional server configuration on-premises.

Remote Access to Reports with Business Analyzer

Dynamics Business Analyzer R5 is a Windows Store app for multitouch devices (such as Surface) that enables users to view and manipulate business reports from an on-premises Dynamics AX 2012 R2 installation. This means a tablet user (typically a manager or executive) can access key reports remotely (such as cash balances and transfers, profit and loss, and divisional revenue forecasts) based on the user’s Dynamics AX role, without access to the full Dynamics AX client application. Business Analyzer allows remote users to view sensitive reports more securely than other methods, such as e-mail attachments.
