Analyst ReportSQL Server 2016 Reporting Services
Significant updates to Reporting Services include new report types, user clients, design tools, and remote access options. Along with updates to the existing paginated reports, the release supports new interactive report formats, including mobile dashboards and Power BI Desktop reports. A new Web client replaces Report Manager, and mobile clients provide secure remote access, which should benefit organizations that prefer to host reports and data on-premises. New design tools and simplified deployment will help report authors. Most enhancements will require Enterprise edition and deployment in Native mode, which decreases the importance of SharePoint integration.
Reporting Services Overview and Direction
Reporting Services is traditionally a platform for the creation of data-driven reports that are retrieved manually or automatically distributed. These types of reports are often routine, scheduled reports that summarize business activities and provide recipients with data in a predetermined format displaying predefined analysis and metrics.
