  • One Dynamics One Platform is a project to improve data sharing between Dynamics 365 Finance + Operations and Dataverse.
  • It will enable customers to build real-time Power Apps applications that can update Finance + Operations data.
  • Data sharing increases storage costs and management, and the project is not likely to help on-premises deployments.
  • Existing Finance + Operations customers, not interested in Power Apps and Power Automate, are not impacted.

One Dynamics One Platform (ODOP) is a multiyear Microsoft initiative focused on improving data sharing between Dynamics 365 Finance + Operations (F&O) and Dataverse, the primary database technology for Power Apps and Power Automate. The intent of ODOP is to help F&O customers use Power Apps and Power Automate to build custom processes for F&O data as easily as Dynamics 365 CRM customers do today. The project began in Nov. 2022 and over time, it will benefit customers who use both Dynamics 365 CRM and F&O applications, as well as customers who want to expand their use of Power Apps and Power Automate to build solutions that use F&O data. However, despite the name, the ODOP project will not create a single Dynamics platform.
