A new release of the Lync 2013 mobile apps (version 5.3) adds the ability to view shared PowerPoint presentations for Windows Phone and iPhone (a feature already available for iPad), which allows users to participate in all aspects of Lync meetings, including voice, video, instant messaging, desktop sharing, and PowerPoint viewing. This update brings the functionality of Lync 2013 for Windows Phone and Lync 2013 for iPhone closer to parity with the Lync Windows Store app and the Lync Web app. Shown here are screen images that compare the user interface for viewing shared PowerPoint presentations on an iPad running iOS 7 and a device running Windows Phone 8.

Changes to the user interface for iOS devices, also part of the new release, bring the Lync 2013 for iPhone and Lync 2013 for iPad apps in alignment with the new look and feel of iOS 7. Voice controls, another new feature for Windows Phone devices, enable users to control some aspects of Lync using voice commands, allowing hands-free control for selecting and attending Lync meetings and checking Lync voice mails.
