Near-Term Roadmap (2026-2027)

Azure DevOps Server enhancements appear first in Azure DevOps Services, a Microsoft-hosted service based on the same technology. Azure DevOps Server releases roll-up features that have been offered first in the hosted service.

Updates

Azure DevOps Server is the latest major version. It does not have a year suffix; the previous version is called Azure DevOps Server 2022.

Azure DevOps Server is the first version to use Microsoft’s Modern Lifecycle Policy, wherein customers receive support as long as they stay current under the product’s licensing and servicing requirements, such as having the latest updates.

Azure DevOps Server will receive changes more frequently, and the concept of major versions will be eliminated, as the product will be known as Azure DevOps Server with ongoing updates.
