Dynamics 365 Fraud Protection is a cloud service that analyzes transactions and events in real time and reports on potentially fraudulent activities.

Service Overview

Fraud Protection, a stand-alone Dynamics 365 service, analyzes transactions and events in real time and reports on potentially fraudulent activities. It uses a rules engine as well as machine learning algorithms that automatically run in Azure Machine Learning. Fraud Protection is designed to identify three types of potential fraudulent transactions:

Account protection analyzes online account events (creation, login, and activity).

Purchase protection analyzes online payment transactions.

Loss prevention analyzes potential in-store and online theft.

Fraud Protection supports device fingerprinting, that is, using various techniques to uniquely identify a device such as a PC, mobile phone, or Xbox. This telemetry can be used during fraud analysis.

Users can adjust input parameters to Fraud Protection with the Virtual Fraud Analyst (VFA), which allows for manipulation of risk thresholds, weights, and geographic filters, among others.
