Microsoft Teams is a cloud service that offers group-based collaboration spaces with persistent chat, voice and video meetings, capabilities to receive and place external calls on a public-switched telephone network (PSTN), integrated access to Microsoft 365 services like SharePoint Online and Microsoft 365 Copilot, and connections to many third-party services.

Teams is included in all Microsoft 365 and Office 365 suites, although Enterprise suites can be purchased without Teams. Similarly, a Teams Enterprise User Subscription License (User SL) is available as an add-on purchase to Enterprise suites. Teams is the primary Microsoft 365 service for unified communication, telephony, and team-based collaboration and serves as a hub for other Microsoft 365 services.
