RoadmapWeb Apps
Web Apps are applications deployed using Azure App Service, which is a PaaS offering. Web Apps reduce the burden of deploying and managing foundational software for customers with hosted Web sites.
Service Overview
A Web App includes a Web server with associated storage and support for infrastructure features offered by App Service, such as management, deployment, and authentication. Web Apps could be especially attractive to organizations offering customer-facing commercial Web sites and to development teams producing prototype sites for testing.
Web Apps can run on Windows Server and Linux VMs, and they can be deployed using containers on both OSs.
Web Apps support popular Web application frameworks such as ASP.NET Core, ASP.NET, Node.js, PHP, Java, and Python. Web App content can be deployed to Azure using technologies such as FTP, Git, and Azure DevOps.
WebJobs perform background processing tasks required by a site without delaying incoming site traffic. WebJobs run on the same VM as the site, so no additional resources need to be provisioned.
