Major developments for Microsoft’s business applications roadmap since the Mar. 2014 Enterprise Software Roadmap include the following:

  • SP1 shipped for the Office 2013 suite (including the Lync client), Exchange Server, SharePoint Server, Project, Visio, and related applications in Mar. 2014, although a bug forced a recall of the SharePoint Server update.
  • The 2003 versions of Office, Visio, Project, and Project Server left extended support in Apr. 2014.
  • Exchange Server and SharePoint Server versions are planned for 2015, according to announcements at Microsoft’s SharePoint and Exchange conferences in early 2014.
  • Excel, PowerPoint, and Word iPad applications were released for Office 365 users in Apr. 2014.
  • Lync and Skype functionality for Windows Phone, and Windows 8 and 8.1 tablets (such as Microsoft’s Surface) continue to receive more features than other devices.
  • Lync and Skype tablet and phone applications received updates that bring their functionality closer to
