Dynamics 365 Customer Engagement services are offered in various individual components, which are sold via User Subscription Licenses (User SLs), Device SLs, and capacity-related models.

Customer Engagement consists of multiple applications, shown on the left (most as red tabs). Each application targets a specific business function, and applications are licensed individually.

Client Types

Multiple categories of Customer Engagement subscription licenses are available and can be purchased in any combination. Starting from the least functional to the most functional, the available subscriptions are the following:

Team Member User SLs (top) provide users full read access across all applications and in addition some write access for select light tasks, such as access to accounts, contacts, or time/expense entry and work order approvals. Team Member subscriptions are limited to Per-User.

Professional-level User SLs (left) are available as Customer Service Professional and Sales Professional. Each licenses basic use of the associated full application and is designed for users who need more functionality than a Team Member subscription offers, such as warehouse receipt handling and work-order approvals, but do not need the full set of features available with an Enterprise (full application) subscription. These licenses also include Team Member rights to access the other applications.
