RoadmapPlaces Roadmap
Microsoft Places is a set of advanced work-scheduling features for Teams and Exchange Online. It’s intended for employees who move frequently between work locations, such as employees who work at home part of the time. Places is available to users by default but requires IT professionals to configure it and set policy. Customers evaluating work-scheduling solutions should consider Places because its core capabilities are included in most Microsoft 365 and Office 365 enterprise plans. However, customers shopping for facilities and hybrid work management products shouldn’t bet too much on Places.

Near-Term Roadmap (2026–2027)
Places development has slowed, but several items are still on the agenda for 2026.
U.S. Government Community Cloud (GCC) customers will get access to Places in the first half of 2026, according to current plans. A limited feature set is also planned for GCC High and DoD (Department of Defense) customers.
