The Compute, Networking, and Infrastructure Roadmap describes the components and services of Azure and on-premises datacenter components, including virtual machines, networking, and storage. It discusses the near-term and long-term technical roadmaps.

The Roadmap is divided into chapters for each major functional area that are broken into reports on individual products and services:

The Compute chapter includes Azure services and on-premises products that host and orchestrate Docker-based containers, schedule and distribute workloads across Azure and on-premises resources, manage development and test environments, and simplify real-time Web site communications between clients and servers.
